Photo ID

IDGO work with Credas to perform our identity checks before we can approve an IDGO Card
application. This can include, address and mortality, liveness and uploading supporting documents.

Credas is a UK-based digital identity verification service which accepts the following government-
issued photo identification documents:

1. UK Photocard Driving Licence: Accepted as a primary form of identification.
2. UK Passport: Recognised for identity verification purposes.
3. Armed Forces Identity Card: Issued to military personnel.
4. Northern Ireland Electoral Identity Card: Used for identification in Northern Ireland.
5. Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) Card: Includes cards like the IDGO Card, CitizenCard,
and My ID Card, recognized under the PASS scheme with a unique reference number.
6. EU/EEA National Identity Cards: Accepted if they contain biometric information.

No Photo ID Verification Guidelines

If an applicant does not have photo ID and chooses to use a referee for verification, they should provide alternative proof of identity and proof of address.
Below is a comprehensive list of acceptable documents:

Documents to Verify Identity (Proof of Name & Date of Birth)

The applicant must provide one of the following:
• Birth Certificate (Full or Short)
• Adoption Certificate
• HMRC Letter (confirming National Insurance number, dated within 3 months)
• Benefit Entitlement Letter (e.g., Universal Credit, PIP, ESA – dated within 3 months)
• Government Issued Certificate of Name Change (e.g., Deed Poll)

Documents to Verify Address (Proof of Residency)

The applicant must provide one of the following, dated within the last 3 months:
• Bank Statement (Current account, savings, or credit card)
• Universal Credit Statement (or any DWP benefit statement)
• Council Tax Bill (Issued within the current tax year)
• Utility Bill (Gas, electricity, water, or broadband)
• Tenancy Agreement (Issued by a registered housing association, local
council, or letting agent)
• Mortgage Statement (Issued within the current tax year)
• Official NHS Letter (e.g., GP registration, hospital appointment, medical
exemption certificate)
• Electoral Register Confirmation (Letter confirming voter registration)
• TV Licence Letter (Dated within 3 months)

How to Submit These Documents?

  • Applicants must upload clear, full-page scans or photos of their selected documents.

  • The name and address must match across documents and the application details
